World’s smallest sensor

The world’s smallest wireless IoT sensor is 19x19x2mm, has 15 years of battery life and can collect data from a distance of 1000 meters.

Disruptive Technologies is the mastermind behind this sensor, and we are proud to have assisted them in the development of their unique technology. The sensor can be placed exactly where the need is, and it collects data such as temperature, proximity and movement directly from the source.

Disruptive Technologies first contacted Data Respons when they wanted help with the development of the sensor itself. Furthermore, they needed to develop hardware and software for their CloudConnector router.

On this project Data Respons worked on customizing the operating system, as well as to develop drivers and applications for Disruptive Technologies CloudConnector. We set up the building system, done boot and OS bringup, developed drivers for the platform’s devices, as well as creating applications for control, testing and production.

We worked as an integrated part of the client’s team that worked with the sensors of Disruptive Technologies, and a large part of our work was related to production testing. Together with the team, we worked on planning and developing production tests that was used to check that the sensor hardware worked as it should.

“Disruptive Technologies is a highly innovative, competent company. They are very flexible and solution-oriented in development. It has been exciting to learn from them, and developing to work with” – Preben, software developer in Data Respons R&D Services

Our teams worked on, and got even more familiar with, the test process used by Disruptive Technologies, learned more about the yocto building system, as well as getting new knowledge on production testing and volume production.

Our specialists involved in the project got new experienced from working with wireless communication technology. And the client’s development teams have many specialists who are incredibly skilled in their fields and the team form Data Respons stated that they had been fortunate to learn a lot from working with them.

“It is very exciting and motivating to work with technology that is on the edge of what is possible to achieve!” – Ole Bjørn, software developer in Data Respons R&D Services.
