Q4-2015: Positive international development leads to growth

- Data Respons finished the year with 17 % growth based on a strong development in international markets, says Kenneth Ragnvaldsen, CEO of Data Respons ASA.

Operating revenue for the fourth quarter was NOK 268 million (229), a growth of 17 %. EBITDA was NOK 14.4 million (18.3) and EBIT amounted to NOK 13.2 million (17.4). Operating cash flow was NOK 18.9 million (24.0). Order intake for the period was NOK 252 million (340).

Operating revenue for the year was NOK 964 million (849), a growth of 13 %. EBITDA was NOK 58.5 million (57.6) and EBIT amounted to NOK 54.7 million (54.5). Operating cash flow was NOK 49.4 million (51.4). Order intake for the period was NOK 941 million (935). The order backlog at the end of the year was NOK 690 million (713).

Strong international growth
– The driving force behind our fourth quarter growth is a strong development in Sweden, confirming its position as our most important region with 53 % of the company’s fourth quarter revenue. Germany is also an important area, where we exceeded NOK 100 million in revenue in 2015. There is considerable growth potential in many years to come, and eventually we find it realistic that Germany will be the largest market also for Data Respons. Important drivers in the market are more mobility, increased automation / robotising, the digitising of the society and IoT – all of which are areas where we have a lot of competence and many exciting services and products to offer, says Ragnvaldsen.

Change in customer mix affects profitability
– The challenges facing the oil industry and related sectors has resulted in lower activity in the Norwegian market. Our strong international growth more than makes up for the lost revenue, but the change in customer mix affects profitability in the quarter. Our international growth is in a large part attributable to new customers in new markets, and the change in services- and product mix influenced profit margins, says Ragnvaldsen.

NOK 1.00 dividend
– In 2015, the company enjoyed both revenue growth, increase in operating profits and a strong cash flow from operations. Data Respons is financially solid and has no interest bearing debt. On this basis, the Board of Directors proposes a dividend of NOK 1.00 per share for the third straight year. Although the market conditions are still mixed, we see significant potential in several of our key markets. The positive development in Sweden and Germany counteracts the more challenging market in Norway. In total, the company has high activity and a solid order backlog, which provides a sound basis for a good 2016, concludes Ragnvaldsen.
